Dos and Don'ts of Making Your 3D Model

Use this checklist before and during your scan. The cleaner your phone video is, the cleaner your Revasive walkthrough will be.

Golden rule

If you want it in the 3D tour, film it clearly from 3 different angles.

Walk around the space like you are showing it to someone who has never been there.

Do not only stand in the doorway.
Do not only walk down the center of the room.
Move around furniture.
Look behind couches, tables, counters, islands, chairs, beds, and corners.
Film the room from the left, right, front, back, high, and low angles.

Setup

01 Set your camera lens to 0.5x. Wide angle keeps more of the room visible for reconstruction. 02 Set resolution to 4K and frame rate to 24 FPS. Use the highest resolution available and the lowest frame rate available. 03 Lock exposure with AE/AF LOCK. Hold on the camera grid until AE/AF LOCK appears at the top of the screen. 04 Open every door you plan to walk through. Keep the property unchanged during the capture so nothing moves between passes.

During the scan

What to do, and what to avoid

If you want it modeled, it has to be in the video.

Film from as many angles as possible. High, low, behind, and above angles all help.

Get close to items you want more detail on.

Capture the full property in one video whenever possible.
